The Girl of Fire and Thorns

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson.  A different plot than other books.  There's a godstone in her belly button and she is "chosen" to fulfill some destiny.  Liked the characters transition through the book.  I think it left room for other books to follow, darn it.  I need to start checking these things.  Another great, quick and easy read.

Leviathan, Behemoth, and Goliath

A trilogy of books by Scott Westerfeld.  These are considered steam punk books and my first foray into the field of steam punk.  They are YA books but don't read too young.  I picked up Leviathan not realizing that it was a first in a series, I hate that.  I had to wait for each of them to come out.  Lucky you,  you can just go pick them all up.  Really, really fun and different.  Fast reads and fantastic artwork.  Thumbs up.

Ender's Game

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.  This was my first book by Mr. Card.  I had heard good things about him and I was not disappointed.  I loved this book.  I will admit that not everyone in my book club loved it,  but they weren't big fans of sci-fi in the first place.  Whereas,  I love sci-fi and fantasy so this book was right up my alley.  I read they are making a movie out of this book,  so read it NOW.  Great conversation book.

Unbroken

Unbroken: A world War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand.   First of all,  I love WWII so this book interested me from the start.  But this book is so much more.  Louis,  the guy who's story this is,  saw so many crazy things,  met some of the most famous people, and then went on to have an adventure I wouldn't wish on anyone.  Read it.  Top points, most stars, etc.  Just read it.
